Project Description

Utilizing materials free of volatile organic compounds, or VOCs, is what we aim to do. Examples include our residential building with low VOC paint or adhesive. Use recyclable or previously recycled materials whenever possible. Sustainability can be achieved by using locally produced resources. In nature, there are several certified sustainable materials that are renewable, like wood. Additionally, make sure the materials you select are robust! The replacement of materials every few years is not sustainable.

The ERV can use the heat from the exhaust to precool or preheat the air being delivered into your home if there are exhaust fans and ducts present, such as in the bathroom. Preheat the air in the winter or precool the air in the summer with an ERV to reduce energy usage on your HVAC.

Our residential project residents use plant species that are native to their region or that are well-known to flourish in the climate when planting wisely. These plants can endure with the bare minimum of care and watering. Growing your own organic food may be a delightful hobby and is incredibly sustainable. They water their garden with the rainwater they collect from their roof drainage system.
